• In magnetic operation, large overloads or short circuit current actuates a solenoid causing a plunger to strike the latching mechanism rapidly opening the main contacts

• Current Limiting Design For Short Circuit Fault Protection

• In a current limiting breaker,the tripping & arc control mechanism are so designed that under short circuit conditions,the contacts are physically separated and the electodynamic forces set up by fault current, assist the extinction is less than half cycle
